The museum is located in the premises of the Palazzo Pretorio.

The Archaeological Museum exhibits finds from the restoration of the Church of San Mamiliano, the most important piece is a container with four hundred and ninety-eight gold coins inside, dating back to the fifth century, there are also some finds from the Tomb of San Sebastiano (II – 1st century BC), a collection of 1st century BC vases, clay statues depicting male and female characters, ex voto from Via Cava del Cavone.

The ground floor of the Palazzo del Pretorio houses the documentation center of the territory and the information center of the Città del Tufo Archaeological Park, here is the reconstruction of the Ildebranda Tomb and a collection of finds from the archaeological area of ​​Sovana.
